Welcome to Never Lost Art...
Welcome to Never Lost Art...
I draw my inspiration from nature, a child’s smile, the way a dancer moves, the wind blowing, life, and beauty around me that touches my heart and captures my feelings. It’s a challenge to see if I can transform what I see and feel in my mind’s eye and heart into a solid form through the medium of clay. I love the feel of clay in my fingers, making something from nothing. Being a ceramicist puts me in my own world in which I have a personal relationship between the clay and myself. Conveying what’s inside of me and having others experience those same feelings through the art I create is the ultimate satisfaction. It recenters me and provides an escape from worries, rules, and reality around me, enabling me to create my own reality.
Never Lost Art is about me sharing my journey and vision of how the earth and people are connected. My landscape paintings capture the natural beauty around us and the serenity of nature itself. I'm an avid gardener and love working in the dirt and planting. My pottery is a way of extending that desire to create something that can be used and passed along . When I'm elbow-deep in clay, it is a connection between the earth and me. It blends who I am with the passion I have for nature's visual and physical beauty. I hope when I'm long gone, what I've created will continue to bring joy and wonder to those who possess my creations.

Plates, Bowls, Dishes
I really enjoy making functional pottery . It gives me a chance to make something beautiful to serve food on and also create a piece that looks great as a decoration for the home. One objective is to make the pieces interesting enough to start up dialogue and bring people together. I serve food in pieces I create and some have gone home with my guests who appreciate the work and care I put into my pieces. This is a great compliment to my work.
Mugs & Vases of Every Shape & Size
Mugs & Vases of Every Shape & Size
Mugs are so personal to me and to those for whom I create them. Every morning we want that special mug, 'our mug,' 'my cup'. I believe everyone has a way of holding that mug in a way that makes them feel comfortable, even secure and relaxed. So I make my mugs as different from each other as possible. People come in all shapes and sizes, so why not make mugs the same way? The vases I create are for fun. I love fresh flowers in the house, they make me happy. So what better way to enjoy them even more than to show them in a vase I had fun creating.
Oil Paintings
Oil Paintings
Nature as I see it, is beautiful and perfect. I have always been fascinated , even mesmerized by the way all the colors and movement in nature captivate me. I try to recreate these feelings by painting it on canvas in oils. Selling a painting can be difficult because I'm parting with a cherished memory. I paint exactly what I see in nature because it doesn't need to be changed from the perfection that it is already. I just want to capture it for my pleasure.
